StorkJet secures 2.1 million PLN in EU funding to develop shortcut recommendations

We are advancing work on a new R&D project to enhance shortcut recommendations, directly integrated with our FlyGuide FPO (Flight Path Optimization) app, available via EFB.

The new module will help pilots optimize flight profiles by predicting the likelihood of receiving „directs” – so-called shortcuts in flight routes. Using historical and live data, the system, supported by AI, will recommend when and where to request a direct and estimate its potential benefits using ML models: shorter flight time, lower fuel burn, and reduced CO₂ emissions.

The project is co-financed by the European Funds for Silesia 2021–2027 and overseen by the Silesian Centre for Entrepreneurship.

  • Total project value: 3.5 million PLN
  • EU funding: 2.1 million PLN
  • StorkJet’s contribution: 1.4 million PLN

This is another step toward smarter, greener, and more efficient flight operations. Big thanks to the EU for their continued trust in our solutions.
